There must be no excuse for a cutoff in three consecutive competitions. Unfortunately, the cutoff was not enough for all three competitions. Korea's only LPGA rookie Yoon In-na had a series of regrets in May.
In the second round of the Mexican Riviera Maya Open held at El Chameleon Golf Club (par 72) in Playa del Carmen, Kintaro, Mexico on the 23rd (Korea time), Yoon Na-na shot one over 73 with three birdies and four bogeys. Yoon Na-na, who shot a total of 5-over 149 on the two days, remained tied for 67th, failing to cross the cut baseline of 4 over par.
Yoon's failure to make the cut was all the more regrettable because she made three of her four bogeys at the last three holes. Yoon, who had two birdies in the first nine holes to recover from her loss on the previous day, had her first bogey at the 12th hole (par 4), but recovered with a birdie at the 15th hole (par 3). Up until then, she seemed highly likely to pass the cut. However, she made a bogey at the 16th hole (par 4), then bogey at the 17th hole (par 4), followed by bogey at the 18th hole at the final par 5. In May, Yoon-na also failed to pass the cut due to a lack of one stroke in the cut baseline at the Black Desert Championship and the Mizuho Americas Open. 스포츠토토
Coincidentally, two of Yoon's rookie colleagues took the lead on the day when Yoon Na-na failed to make the cut for three consecutive times.
Rookie Jenny Bae of the U.S. took the lead with 6-under 138 overall, while Miranda Wang of China tied for second (5-under 139) with Brianna Do of the U.S. by one stroke. Choi Hye-jin, Shin Ji-eun and Lee Jung-eun 5 tied for fourth with 4-under 140 overall, jumping into the race for the title. Lee Jung-eun 5 shot 3-under 69, while Choi Hye-jin and Shin Ji-eun shot 1-under 71 and even-par 72, respectively.
Kang Hye-ji and Jeon Ji-won are tying for 16th (1 under par 143), and Lee So-mi returned to the 25th place (1 even par 144).
Lee Jung-eun 6, Ji Eun-hee, and Kim Se-young also failed to pass the cut by tying for 67th place.
